History
The Monte was founded by Carmelite friar Vincenzo Di Leone da Palermo in March, 1542. In 1795, a second Monte was founded by baron Antonino Di Stefano di San Lorenzo. In 1862, the institute was concentrated into the local Congregazione di Carità. In March, 1942, the Monte di Alcamo was incorporated. It appears to be still active in 1957, and it's not certain when it definitively ceases its activity.

The administration of the Monte was initially entrusted to five Priors, one for each district of the city, with yearly office.
