History
The institute was founded by City Council resolution in March, 1545. The first statute was approved the following month. The history of the Monte is little documented for the late sixteenth century and the first half of the seventeenth century, though it seems to have undergone a period of serious difficulties. Meanwhile, in 1611, a second Monte was founded in Salò, by the bequest from Bersanino Guizzerotti. Both institutions faced difficulties in the Napoleonic period. With Decreto Regio dated December 5th, 1941, Monte di Salò was incorporated into Monti Riuniti di Credito su Pegno di Brescia.
