Monte di Pietà activities

History
The foundation of the Monte was promoted by Observant Franciscan Francesco da Sant'Elpidio. The subsequent developments are not well known, except that it was managed by the Comune. It remains unclear when the institute incorporated the other city Monte (Santa Monica, founded at the end of the sixteenth century); perhaps in the nineteenth century. During the nineteenth century it went under the administration of the local Congregazione di Carità. By Ministerial Decree of March 7th, 1956, providing loans was revoked to the institute and it was put into liquidation.
