It has not been possible to recover any specific study dedicated to the history of the Monte, which was certainly already operating by December 1589, when it was visited by the bishop of Montalto Paolo Emilio Giovannini. Similarly, the date when it ceased its activity is unknown, but it certainly occurred before the end of the 1930s and probably before the end of the nineteenth century. 1862 is the most recent date in the preserved documents.
