History
The Monte was established over the bequest of Faentine Countess Costanza Severoli, wife of Modiglianese Giulio Piazza, dated April 7th, 1659,. In actual fact, the institute was not opened before 1738. Pawnbroking activity, however, seems to had been already practiced. The administration of the Monte was submitted to Camera delle Comunità of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany until 1781, when it was entrusted to representatives of the communities. From 1895, then, the administration became autonomous. The first statute was approved in 1830, almost a century from the opening, then modified in 1895. The latest news of Monte's activities date back to 1907.
