History
The founding act of the Monte can be identified in the donation made by Pietro Paolo Russo on 27 March 1789, although the effective erection of the institution and the nomination of its officials only occurred on 23 October 1796. The Monte started operating no earlier than January 1797. It operated until 1966, when a ministerial decree dated 15 February revoked its authorization to exercise credit and its assets were liquidated
