The authorization from Republic of Venice to found the institute dates back to 1501, yet the Monte did not begin to operate before the end of the following year. It was reopened in 1517, on the initiative of Podestà Marco Miani. In 1808, the institute went under the administration of the Napoleonic Congregazione di Carità, remaining until its suppression in 1821. In 1822, a Savings Bank was annexed to the Monte. In 1949, the institute ceased its activity, being absorbed by Cassa di risparmio di Verona, Vicenza e Belluno.
