History
The Monte was founded with a bequest by Cesare Mangioli in 1629 and was officially erected on 5 November 1631 with a decree by pope Urbanus VIII. After the spolitian suffered during the napoleonic occupation, the Monte was reconstituted in 1818. It continued to operate until 1941, when a royal decree dated 5 December sanctioned its incorporation in the Cassa di risparmio della provincia di Viterbo

Archival history
Something of the documentation produced by the Monte is preserved inside the Archivio diocesano of Bagnoregio, among which surely is a book of deposits from 1631 to 1678. The documentation has not yet been inventoried, thus its amount and chronological scope are uncertain.
